Jun Software ("we", "us", or "our") operates the SpeakUp AI mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
Summary: We collect only the data necessary to provide AI-powered English learning. We never sell your personal information to third parties.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address, display name, and profile details when you create an account.
- Authentication Data: If you sign in with Apple, we receive only the identifiers Apple provides (name, email).
- Learning Preferences: Native language, English proficiency level, learning goals, and occupation you select during onboarding.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Voice Recordings: Audio captured during conversation practice sessions. Recordings are processed for speech recognition and pronunciation evaluation, then deleted from our servers within 24 hours.
- Usage Data: Session duration, features used, conversation topics, and learning progress.
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and compatibility.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Precise location data
- Contacts or phone numbers
- Photos or camera data
- Browsing history outside the App
2. How We Use Your Information
- AI Conversation: To provide personalized English conversation practice powered by AI.
- Pronunciation Feedback: To analyze your speech and provide pronunciation scores and improvement suggestions.
- Learning Progress: To track your progress, adapt difficulty levels, and recommend appropriate content.
- Account Management: To authenticate your identity and manage your subscription.
- Service Improvement: To analyze aggregated, anonymized usage patterns and improve the App.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
- OpenAI: Powers AI conversation and language evaluation. Voice data sent to OpenAI is subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy. We use the API with data retention disabled.
- Apple Sign In: Authentication service provided by Apple Inc.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud infrastructure for data storage and processing.
4. Data Retention
- Voice recordings: Deleted within 24 hours of processing.
- Conversation history: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
- Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days upon request.
- Anonymized analytics: May be retained indefinitely in aggregate form.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- TLS/SSL encryption for all data in transit
- Encrypted storage for sensitive data at rest
- JWT-based authentication with short-lived access tokens
- Regular security audits and updates

You have the right to:

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States and Singapore (AWS ap-southeast-1). We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
